What gives a photograph a soul? What takes an image of a beautiful landscape, a recorded moment in time, and makes it feel like home? Maybe a photo of the green park you frequented as a child invokes a memory of your father spinning you round. Or an image of a giant redwood brings you back to a road trip with your best friend. The more I work, the more I realize it's peoples experiences within the landscape that make them special. I'm hoping to explore people among their favorite landscapes more in 2019. For now, here are the two subjects, divided.
